Department of Transportation (DOT) Inspections

The U.S Department of Transportation requires that every commercial vehicle that travels out of state inspected annually by a qualified inspector.

According to Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulation Part 396.17 this includes each vehicle in a combination vehicle. For example, for a tractor semitrailer, full trailer combination, the tractor, semitrailer, and the full trailer (including the converter dolly if so equipped) must each be inspected.

Our team of experts at Interstate Fleet Maintenance understand the ins and outs of the federal inspection process and ready to ensure you pass with flying colors.
